This Account Closure & Termination Policy ("Policy") describes the general process, conditions, and operational practices relating to account closure, suspension, restriction, or termination for services offered through BharatOne Services and Affiliates Private Limited ("BharatOne", "Company", "we", "our", or "us").

This Policy applies to customers, merchants, retailers, franchise partners, agents, distributors, API users, business partners, and all users accessing or using the Services ("Users"). By using the Services, Users acknowledge and agree to this Policy.

1. Purpose

This Policy is intended to:

  • Provide transparency regarding account closure processes;
  • Support responsible operational and data handling practices;
  • Explain User rights relating to account suspension or termination;
  • Maintain operational integrity, fraud prevention, and security safeguards;
  • Support legal, regulatory, audit, and record retention requirements.

2. Account Closure Requests

Users may request closure of their account or discontinuation of Services by contacting BharatOne through its official Customer Support or Grievance Redressal channels.

Account closure requests may require:

  • Identity verification;
  • Account ownership confirmation;
  • Completion of pending operational requirements;
  • Verification of authorized account ownership; and
  • Submission of supporting documentation where applicable.

BharatOne reserves the right to request additional information where reasonably necessary to:

  • Prevent unauthorized closure requests;
  • Verify the identity of the requesting User;
  • Protect platform integrity;
  • Comply with regulatory obligations; or
  • Address operational or security concerns.

3. Conditions Prior to Account Closure

Before an account can be closed, the following matters may need to be resolved, where applicable:

  • Pending transactions or settlements;
  • Refunds, reversals, or chargebacks;
  • Outstanding service charges or dues;
  • Active subscriptions or recurring services;
  • Merchant settlement reconciliation;
  • Pending verification or compliance reviews;
  • Fraud investigations or security assessments;
  • Legal or regulatory obligations.

Account closure requests may remain pending until all applicable operational and compliance requirements have been satisfactorily completed.

4. Merchant, Retailer & Business Accounts

Merchant, retailer, distributor, API, franchise, or business accounts may additionally require:

  • Completion of settlement reconciliation;
  • Return or deactivation of operational credentials;
  • Resolution of transaction disputes or reversals;
  • Completion of contractual obligations;
  • Closure of connected APIs or integrations;
  • Review of pending liabilities, claims, or compliance obligations.

Closure of a merchant or business account does not automatically extinguish obligations or liabilities arising before the account is closed.

5. Suspension or Restriction by BharatOne

BharatOne reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate access to any Service where:

  • Fraudulent, suspicious, or unauthorized activity is detected;
  • False, inaccurate, or misleading information has been provided;
  • These Terms, Policies, or applicable laws have been violated;
  • Regulatory, banking, or partner requirements require such action;
  • Security concerns arise;
  • Operational integrity or platform security may be compromised.

Such action may be temporary or permanent depending upon the severity and nature of the issue.

6. Fraud, Security & Compliance Restrictions

BharatOne may delay, suspend, or deny account closure where reasonably necessary for:

  • Fraud prevention;
  • Dispute resolution;
  • Chargeback investigations;
  • Security reviews;
  • Regulatory or legal obligations;
  • Partner reconciliation requirements;
  • Protection of customers, merchants, or the BharatOne platform.

BharatOne may retain operational records, transaction logs, audit trails, and security information where required under applicable law or internal compliance procedures.

7. Data Retention After Closure

Closure of an account does not necessarily result in immediate deletion of all associated information.

BharatOne may retain certain information for periods reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable laws and regulatory obligations;
  • Maintain transaction and financial records;
  • Support dispute resolution and customer service;
  • Prevent fraud and financial crime;
  • Maintain audit and compliance records;
  • Protect platform security and operational integrity;
  • Enforce contractual rights and Company policies.

Information no longer required may be securely deleted, anonymized, or archived in accordance with BharatOne's Privacy Policy and applicable legal requirements.

8. Service Access After Closure

Upon successful account closure or termination:

  • Access to BharatOne Services may be permanently disabled;
  • Login credentials shall become inactive;
  • Wallets or connected services may cease functioning;
  • Certain transaction history or records may no longer be accessible through the user portal;
  • Linked APIs, merchant dashboards, or partner accounts may be deactivated.

Users are advised to download or retain copies of invoices, transaction statements, settlement reports, certificates, or other important documents before requesting account closure.

9. Re-Registration & Future Access

BharatOne reserves the right to refuse future registration or onboarding where:

  • Previous misuse has occurred;
  • Fraudulent activity has been identified;
  • Regulatory or legal restrictions apply;
  • Outstanding liabilities remain unresolved;
  • Previous termination resulted from violation of BharatOne Policies or applicable laws.

Any future access shall remain subject to BharatOne's onboarding, KYC, compliance, and operational review processes.

10. User Responsibilities

Users are responsible for:

  • Maintaining accurate account information;
  • Resolving pending obligations before requesting account closure;
  • Protecting usernames, passwords, OTPs, API keys, and authentication credentials;
  • Promptly reporting unauthorized access or suspicious activity;
  • Updating linked payment instruments where required;
  • Reviewing subscriptions, merchant services, and connected accounts before closure.

Users shall remain responsible for obligations arising before account closure is completed.

11. Limitation of Liability

BharatOne shall not be liable for:

  • Delays arising from unresolved settlements or operational matters;
  • Inability to access Services after account closure;
  • Third-party partner restrictions or processing delays;
  • Losses resulting from unauthorized or fraudulent closure requests;
  • Information retained pursuant to legal, regulatory, audit, or operational requirements;
  • Interruptions caused by government authorities, banking institutions, or payment ecosystem partners beyond BharatOne's reasonable control.

12. Policy Updates

BharatOne may revise or update this Policy periodically to reflect:

  • Operational improvements;
  • Technology developments;
  • Banking or payment ecosystem changes;
  • Partner requirements;
  • Regulatory amendments;
  • Security and fraud prevention practices.

Updated versions will be published on the official BharatOne website.

Continued use of the Services following publication of revised terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
